A Day to Remember!

My husband and I booked a full-day tour to Hobbiton and the Waitomo Glowworm Caves with Cheeky Kiwi Travel, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our time in New Zealand. Hobbiton truly is magical. Even as someone who hasn’t seen the movies, I was completely charmed by the setting — the rolling green hills, the attention to detail, and the sheer care that has gone into preserving the site. It’s one of those places that feels special the moment you arrive and is absolutely not to be missed. The Waitomo Glowworm Caves added an entirely different kind of magic. The caves themselves are stunning, and drifting through while thousands of glowworms light up the darkness is surreal and unforgettable. That said, the best part of the entire day was our guide, Jeoff. He was incredibly organized, kept everything running smoothly, and made what could have been a long day feel effortless. His knowledge of New Zealand — its history, culture, and geography — was impressive, and he shared it in a way that was engaging rather than overwhelming. Add in his quick wit, great sense of humor, and excellent driving, and the hours flew by. If you’re considering this tour, I can’t recommend it enough — especially if you’re lucky enough to have Jeoff as your guide. He genuinely elevated the experience from a great tour to an exceptional one.

The tour was great the activities were fun loved hobbiton and the glow worm caves, the company Cheeky Kiwi was great

Clarke was our tour operator and he was great, very friendly and had great information that he shared with us ,made the visit so much better as we were able to understand more of the history of the area.

Got to visit if in Aukland

Great trip, I would highly recommend this trip. A lot of fun and Matt our tour guide was very knowledgeable, friendly, courteous and made everyone feel welcome! The tour itself is amazing such an amazing experience!

Highly recommend this tour

司機準時接送，開車亦有介紹沿途景色，十分專業。時間安排妥當，有定時安排去廁所/小休時間，午餐質素挺好。哈比村的導遊亦很專業有趣,景色優美。我對於這個團及Cheeky Kiwi旅行社十分滿意！ Highly recommend Cheeky Kiwi for all of you. Pick up on time, our tour guide aka driver is professional, nice and helpful. Time arrangement is good and the lunch is good as well. We got plenty of time to go to washrooms/ buy some snacks from time to time. Tours in hobbiton and cave are good as well. I am very satisfied with this tour!

Amazing

the tour was wonderful and the hiring of cheeky kiwi was spot on. The van that picked us up was super comfortable, with cup holders. Our driver Rich was super punctual, friendly and an excellent driver, always concerned about safety, which is very important since it takes three hours to get there and three hours to get back. The visit to Hobitton was spectacular, a dream come true! Afterwards we had a delicious lunch included in the package which was super worth it and we headed to the Waitomo caves which was super worth it. Even though the price was a little high, I think it was worth every penny, I don't regret it.

Brilliant!

The whole trip was great. Kim our driver/guide was fun, informative and friendly. Hobbiton was a revelation and Flavian, our guide, was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Enjoyed it hugely. Waitomo Caves were a magical and special experience. Again our guide, one of the family descended from the Maori finder of the caves, was Fantastic. Overall an excellent day. Thank you Cheeky Kiwi!
